6 Best Power Towers 2024

If you love working out in the comfort of your home gym then a power tower is just for you. You’ll be able to do all the body weight workouts you’ve ever wanted with comfort, such as pull ups, sit ups, knee raises, dips and push ups. When it comes to the best power tower for your home you can’t go wrong with any of the towers in our list.

Things to Consider When You Buy

Power towers are a great addition to your home gym. They will allow you to do more workouts than you could before, but they do tend to be fairly tall so it’s important to think carefully about where your new tower will go.

Most towers are around 7 feet tall, but you’ll often need another 2 feet above this for pull up based routines. So tall ceilings are a must if the tower is going inside. Most homes have 9 feet ceilings but if yours doesn’t you’ll need to think about installing the tower somewhere outside instead.

Buyer’s Information

So you love working out at home and you’ve got a few weights and other gear, well when it comes to power towers there are a few points you should consider before making your purchase:

  • Padding. Some towers come with more padding than others. For the most comfort go for towers with at least 2” of padding. The padding will not only make your workouts more comfortable but you won’t end up with sore arms and back.
  • Rigidity. You’ll want to feel super secure during your workout, so invest in a power tower that is made from high quality steel and has a good footing. You certainly don’t want it falling over when you’re midway through a routine!

Top 3 Best Power Tower Reviews

1. XMark VKR

This is the best power tower that we reviewed hands down. It comes with so many features that you usually don’t see on a power tower of this price range. The extra thick padding provides superior comfort to all the other power towers we tested. And the 14 gauge steel gives the user a feeling of safety and reliability.

We felt very secure during all of our workouts on this power tower. There was no shaking or wobbling and we completed all of our exercises with ease. From knee raises, dips, pull ups, push ups and sit ups – this station has everything the home user needs for a great full body workout.

You don’t usually see a sit up attachment on power towers and it is a great addition. The two foot pads at the base of the tower allow you to hook your feet under them and perform sit ups with ease. We found the spacing of all the bars to be just right and the grips were very comfortable to use.

This power tower is so strong that it can accommodate users up to 350 lb. – that’s a lot more than other towers in our list. Overall we loved this power tower and ended up getting one for ourselves!

2. XMark Power Tower

This is very similar to our top pick, indeed it is made by the same manufacturers. The main differences that we noticed were the slightly simpler layout and the lack of a sit up support at the base of the tower.

Again we see a very high quality construction with 14 gauge steel used for the main supports. There is extra thick padding for comfort and the spacing of the bars are very comfortable. We felt that this tower was a little less sturdy than the VKR and perhaps that is due to the narrower footing at the base of the tower.

3. ProGear 275

This tower has a fairly low weight capacity compared to our top two picks which can support 350 lbs. whereas this tower only manages 275 lbs. The padding is slightly thinner than our top two picks as well, coming in at just 2” versus the 2.5” of the xMark models. This difference isn’t immediately noticeable, although you can certainly pick up on it after a long workout.

We found the ProGear to be very stable during all of our workouts. Our main concern was that the layout was much simpler than the xMark and a few exercises were a little more cumbersome. The step support on the central bar is good for shorter users, and helps them reach the pull up bar with ease.

Overall this was a good basic power tower but the best power tower in our list is by far the xMark models.
