Kick your feet up for 10 minutes and have a read. Tell everyone else who is clamoring for a bit of your time that you are busy doing some very important prenatal and pregnancy research!
Time
And speaking of time, you should think about how much of it you have to spare in order to sit down and complete a workout.
Whether you have 10 minutes or 60, you’ll find that there are solutions for everyone and we’ve even simplified your search by listing the workout time of each DVD in our table below.
Type of Workout
The most important thing is to find what works for you.
We’ve tried to include a mixture of workout styles to help you get a sense of what’s available. You might feel most comfortable with:
- Pilates
- Yoga
- Barre
- Cardio
- Sculpting
- Stretching
Most DVD’s include a mixture of activities so you can evenly workout each part of your body rather working out the same area(s) repeatedly.
Your Trimester
Usually pregnancy workout routines include modified versions of each exercise so that women of all trimesters can benefit from the workout.
Make sure to double check just in case the DVD you’re interested in was intended for a particular stage of pregnancy rather than each one.
Some of them even have a post-pregnancy workout once baby is out!

Top 3 Best Pregnancy Workout DVD Reviews
1. Lizbeth Garcia 10 Ms: Prenatal Pilates
If time is of the essence but incorporating a workout into your busy day is still important to you, then Lizbeth Garcia has the best pregnancy workout DVD for you.
Type of Workout: Pilates
How It Works: It’s divided into five 10-minute exercise sets and you decide how to mix and match them. Do a few exercises based on what your body needs/can handle, do all five together or do them individually as needed. You choose!
Choose from standing Pilates, core Pilates, Pilates for buns and thighs, Pilates for flexibility or total body Pilates moves. It has everything you need to keep your body feeling good throughout your pregnancy and she is really easy to follow.
Make sure you have some weights available!
2. Suzanne Bowen’s Slim & Toned
Type of Workout: Barre
How It Works: This workout is divided into 4 sections: lower body, upper body with core, cardio sculpting and aligned stretching. You don’t have to do all four segments in one shot. Divide them up if you don’t have time for the full workout!
The Barre workout, if you’re not familiar with it, is a mixture of mat-based exercises to warm you up and then (in a traditional studio) you move to a ballet bar for most of the workout. Since most of you probably don’t have a ballet bar at home, you can use a chair. You’ll see her using one in the video so you know what to do!
This workout is ideal for pregnant women because it is low-impact. It offers you the benefit of improving posture, muscle definition, helps you maintain a healthy weight, it increases flexibility and reduces stress.
Great for all fitness levels and thankfully she keeps it short and sweet at the intro so you can dive right in!
3. Julie Schoen Best Prenatal Yoga
Type of Workout: Yoga
How It Works: This is a relaxing approach to the pregnancy workout and perfect for those who want to unwind after a long day.
The workout lasts for 60 minutes, and Julie provides you with modifications for each trimester. It is both comfortable and effective at working muscles at the same time. Both mom and baby will appreciate the relaxing meditation and restorative poses and even if you’re a beginner, Julie explains things simply so you can understand.
You’ll need a few props, but she shows household objects that you can use in their place if you don’t have them. It’s totally doable!
